When you create a mechanism, by default COSMOSMotion maps the assembly and physical simulation data, if it exists. Physical simulation entities are treated in a similar manner to constraint mapped joints. This means that the COSMOSMotion entities will keep associativity to the physical simulation entities.
If a COSMOSMotion mechanism already exists before creation of physical simulation data, the physical simulation values for gravity and simulation time/frame are ignored. For a new mechanism, the physical simulation values are used for the initial defaults in COSMOSMotion, but can be overridden at any time.
When you override gravity or simulation properties mapped from physical simulation, COSMOSMotion no longer maintains associativity to the physical simulation values.
If a physical simulation mechanism already exists when you create the COSMOSMotion mechanism, the Make Joints Flexible setting in the Simulation tab will be enabled by default. If the physical simulation mechanism is created after the COSMOSMotion mechanism, the flexibility setting is not affected.

Gravity |
Gravity direction and magnitude |
COSMOSMotion maps the gravity value automatically. You can, however, change it manually. |
|
Motor |
Part motion |
COSMOSMotion directly maps motors generated by physical simulation to motion on parts. You cannot modify the motor setting in COSMOSMotion. When you rebuild the model or run a simulation, COSMOSMotion synchronizes properties with physical simulation properties. |

Spring |
Spring |
Similar to motors, physical simulation springs are mapped to COSMOSMotion springs. You cannot modify the spring settings in COSMOSMotion. When you rebuild the model or run a simulation, COSMOSMotion synchronizes spring locations and properties with physical simulation properties. |

Time duration |
Simulation time and the number of frames are synchronized after initial creation. |
