Combine the change in view orientation with rotation of Gear<1>, extending the gear rotation beyond the zoom in sequence.

  1. In the Animator FeatureManager design tree, right-click Orientation and Camera Views and select Disable Playback of View Keys to change the icon to .

A closer look at orientation and camera views

  1. In the timeline, click the 00:00:03 mark to place the timebar.

  1. Click Front (Standard Views toolbar).

  2. Gear<1> faces front.

  3. In the graphics area, select the gear tooth towards the top of the model, and rotate 90o (to the 3 o'clock position).

  1. In the timeline, click the 00:00:06 mark to place the timebar.

Each time you add the timebar, the changebars appear along the timeline for the 90o rotation you just defined.

  1. In the graphics area, select the gear tooth at the 3 o'clock position and rotate 90o (to the 6 o'clock position).

Why did I do this?

  1. In the timeline, click the 00:00:09 mark to place the timebar.

  2. In the graphics area, select the gear tooth at the 6 o'clock position and rotate 90o (to the 9 o'clock position).

  3. In the timeline, click the 00:00:12 mark to place the timebar.

  4. In the graphics area, select the gear tooth at the 9 o'clock position and rotate 90o (to the 12 o'clock position).

  5. In the Animator FeatureManager design tree, right-click Orientation and Camera Views and clear Disable Playback of View Keys to change the icon back to .

  6. Click Play from start (SolidWorks Animator toolbar).

As you play the animation, the timebar moves along the timeline over the changebars.

You can also animate assembly components and limit the motion by adding a Distance or an Angle mate.
