Load the CAM-Part casting.prt located in the .../Portfolio folder.
The model was built using the following SolidWorks configurations:
Casting - the casting model; this configuration is used for the Stock model definition.
Without holes - in this configuration all the holes are suppressed; this configuration is used for 3D machining.
Complete CAM-Part - the final model with all the features; this configuration is used for the drill geometries definition.
This stage consists of the following four Operations using the Constant-Z floor machining strategy:
3DM_Upper_face - machining of the upper model face.
3DM_Upper_pads - machining of the group of upper pads.
3DM_Lower_pads - machining of the group of lower pads.
3DM_Bottom_pockets - machining of the pockets at the bottom of the model.
Drilling - in this stage the following three Drill Operation groups were created using a Machining Process:
The Machining Process automatically creates three drilling operations (centering, drilling and tapping) for each hole group. The Default sets of the machining process were used to choose the drill dimensions (M3, M5).
