SOLIDCAM2000 Milling Quick Start

(powered by MDT&AutoCAD2000)

Step 1

Loading the design file

Previous step Home Next step

Steps:

Choose the File>Open commands in the Base Modeler to load the file MoldInsert.dwg. This file contains the model of the mold insert and should be located in the folder ...\user\ after the standard installation process.

The mold insert will be machined with 2 operations:

The Roughing operation will pre-machine the block parallel to the contour in several steps down to a depth Z -12. Afterwards Finish the model surface with a linear cross-finish strategy with an angle of 45 degrees.

Every manufacturing project in SOLIDCAM2000 must contain the following data:

PART: The Part defines the general data of the workpiece. This includes the drawing name, the home position, tools options, CNC-controller etc...

GEOMETRY: By selecting Curves, Surfaces or Solids, define WHAT and WHERE you are going to machine.

JOB: A Job is a single machining operation in SOLIDCAM2000. In the Job Technology, Tool parameters and Strategies are defined, in short – HOW you want to machine.
