Overview of Creating a Rigid Body Simulation
The workflow for creating a rigid body simulation depends on what you want to achieve. However, to get started, here’s a basic procedure outlining the steps involved and the different choices you can make.
Example: Bouncing Cube
Here is a simple example that makes a cube fall and bounce on a floor.
1. Create a cube and a floor (flattened cube) and place the cube above the floor.
2. Create a gravity force.
3. Set the cube as an active rigid body and set the floor as a passive rigid body.
4. Create a gravity force.
5. Set up the playback controls and the length of the simulation.
6. Play the simulation to see the cube bounce as it hits the floor.
