Setting mental ray Rendering Options
Location: The Render Manager > Renderer
or
The Render Manager > Globals > mental ray
By default, all of the passes in your scene share a single set of mental ray rendering options. However, you may also create local sets of mental ray rendering options for each pass, and edit them individually.
To edit the scene’s shared mental ray rendering options
1. In the Render Manager, go to the Globals > mental ray tab.
Setting options on this tab ignores the current pass setting, so if the current pass has a local set of mental ray rendering options, they will be unaffected by any changes that you make here.
2. Set the mental ray rendering options as needed. These options are described in this chapter.
To edit mental ray rendering options for a single pass
1. In the Render Manager, make sure that mental ray is the active renderer for the pass you wish to render.
2. On the Renderer > Rendering tab, click the Make Local to Current Pass button.
A local set of mental ray rendering options is created for the pass.
3. Set the mental ray rendering options as needed. These options are described in this chapter.
