Creating Movie Files (Windows Only)

Location: The Render Manager > Output > Movie

The options on the Movie tab allow you to create MXF files, and an AAF master clip that describes them, out of your rendered sequences. You can also create .AVI and QuickTime files.

The options to create movies are described in this section. For a general discussion of AAF and MXF files, see AAF/MXF Considerations in the Rendering Properties reference.

When the Create option is activated, the movie file is created immediately after the last frame of the pass is rendered. A separate progress bar is displayed so you can monitor the movie creation progress.

AAF/MXF files or movie files are created only upon successful completion of a render pass, and then only if all of the rendered images in the sequence have been found.

You can activate the Skip Rendered Frames option on the Output tab of the Pass Options property editor to complete an incomplete render, or to create the AAF/MXF or movie file from the existing image sequence without re-rendering the scene.

To create a movie file

1. Check the Create box.

2. Specify a Format. This can be either AAF, AVI, or QuickTime. Changing the format updates the file extension in the path.

If QuickTime is not installed, creating a QuickTime movie will fail.

3. Set the remaining options to define the output movie file. For a complete description of these options, see Movie in the Rendering Properties reference.
