To create a gravity control object: Choose Get > Force > Gravity from the Simulate toolbar, Get > Primitive > Control Object > Gravity from the other toolbars, or Create > Force > Gravity from the Hair toolbar.
To redisplay: Select the gravity object and press Enter.
The Gravity force simulates a gravitational pull on objects, including in a negative direction.
For more information on forces in general, see Natural Forces in the Simulation Basics guide.

Sets the intensity of the gravitational force in either a positive or negative direction. The default value of 98.1 simulates earth’s gravity. This default value is set as such to simulate objects properly when 1 Softimage units equals 10 cm. Depending on the scale of your scene, you may need to adjust this value to get objects falling as they should. For example, if you define 1 Softimage unit to be equal to 1 meter, you would need to set the gravity to 9.81. |
