You can “open” (switch between) projects to make them active, or you can set a project as default so that it opens automatically when you start XSI. You can also define a project as a custom shelf called My Project Shelf and use it to open scenes easily by dragging and dropping them into the XSI workspace.
1. Choose File > Project Manager from the main menu.
All projects stored in the project list are displayed in the Select a Project pane of the Project Manager dialog box.
2. Click on a project name in the Select a Project list box.
If you do not find the project you need in the displayed list, click the Scan Disk button and select a folder to scan for projects.
3. Click the Set Active Project button. The selected project is now the active project and its name is displayed in the titlebar.
If you want to open a particular scene within that project, in the Select a Scene list box, double-click the scene you wish to work on.
If you work with a particular project most of the time, you can set it as the default project. The default project is opened automatically when you start XSI. It is also the first project specified in the project list.
To set the default project
1. Choose File > Project Manager from the main menu.
2. Select the project you want to make the default.
3. Click Set as Default.
If you work with a particular project most of the time, you can define it as a custom shelf called My Project Shelf. This shelf displays the contents of an XSI project: each folder in your project is a tab and the contents of each folder are displayed as thumbnails that you can drag and drop onto objects and views in your scene. See Custom Toolbars and Shelves in the Interface and Tools guide.
• To enable My Project Shelf, set the MYPROJECTPATH environment variable to the path of an XSI project. For example:
set MYPROJECTPATH=C:\MyWork
Define the environment variable as a permanent variable in the XSI environment script. For more information about setting environment variables, see the Setup & Licensing guide.
• To open the shelf in the XSI user interface, choose View > Toolbars > My Project Shelf.
You cannot delete the project in which you are currently working. To delete your current project, you must close it, open another project, then delete the project in the Project Manager.
You cannot delete a project that is set as the default project. You must set another project as the default, then delete the project in the Project Manager.
To delete a project
1. Choose File > Project Manager from the main menu.
2. Click the name of the project to be deleted from the Select a Project pane.
3. Click the Delete Project button to delete the selected project.
