Motion Blur

Motion blur adds realism to a scene’s moving objects by simulating the blur that results from objects passing in front of a camera lens over a specified period of exposure. In XSI, you can easily achieve a photorealistic motion blur effect for every object and/or camera in your scene. Motion blur gives a natural look to fast-moving objects. It is also used as an alternative to field rendering for reducing the strobing effect.
