Managing Files Using NXN alienbrain
If you have NXN alienbrain, and the alienbrain integration for XSI installed, a group of AlienBrain controls are added to the external files manager’s right-hand pane and a column is added to the display grid. This column displays the following information.
• If the file is a part of your alienbrain project, its version number is displayed.
• If a file is not in the alienbrain project, “not in project” is displayed.
• If a file is checked out, then “checked-out” appears next to the version number.
• If your alienbrain XSI integration is not compatible with your version of XSI, “AlienBrain integration needs update” is displayed
Using the alienbrain Controls
The AlienBrain controls in the external files manager let you perform the following alienbrain related tasks on selected external files:
• Add to alienbrain adds the files to the alienbrain server.
Note that before you add a file to the alienbrain server, you must copy it to your local alienbrain workspace, which you can do using the Copy Files to Project command (see Copying External Files to Projects).
• Get Latest gets the latest version of the selected files from the alienbrain server.
• Check Out checks the selected files out. If you check out the wrong file, you can click Undo Checkout to do just that.
• Check In checks the selected files back into the alienbrain server. If no files are selected, all checked-out files are checked back in.

The external files manager’s alienbrain features are designed to work with version 7.2 (and higher) of NXN alienbrain and the latest version of the alienbrain integration for XSI version 5.0 (and higher). |
