The Optics operators create optical effects that add realism to your image. The Depth of Field and Lens Flare operators simulate two common camera effects, while the Flare ring is more of a special effect that you can use to enhance your images.
The Optics operators are available from the Ops > Optics menu in the FxTree, or directly from the Optics tab of the Operator Selector.
The Optics category contains the following operators:
The Depth of Field operator simulates a camera’s depth of field, according to a Z depth input, by manipulating the focal length, near and far foci, strength of the effect, radius of the circle of confusion, and range of Z values.
Requires an Input (RGBA) and a Z Depth input (A).
The Lens Flare operator applies a lens flare to your image or sequence. This is useful for adding the lens flare effect to pre-rendered passes. You can control the brightness and dimensions of the basic flare effect, its “star”, and its glow. You can also set up to three lights to act as sources for the flare(s).
This operator requires one input clip of any type.
The Flare Ring operator creates a fiery ring in the rendered frame. You can control the ring’s dimensions, brightness, and create random deviations in the width.
This operator requires one input clip of any type.
