Color Curves Operators

The Color Curves operators let you modify image components using a graph and extract mattes based on various aspects of the input image including luma, chroma, color, and hue.

The extract-type operators are handy because they allow you to create mattes that you can then use to composite images together, or control where an effect is displayed.

All extract operators give you the option to create a cutout on output. Creating a cutout means that the output is automatically forced to RGBA and the RGB input is passed through to the output. If the Pre Multiply RGB option is selected, then the output RGB is premultiplied by the generated matte.

The Color Curves operators are available from the Ops > Color Curves menu in the FxTree or directly from the Color Curves tab of the Operator Selector.

The Color Curves category contains the following operators:

Chroma Adjust

The Chroma Adjust operator adjusts the chrominance values of a clip using a graph.

This operator requires one RGB(A) input clip.

CMY Adjust

The CMY Adjust operator adjusts the cyan, magenta, and yellow values of a clip using a graph.

This operator requires one RGB(A) input clip.

Comp Adjust

The Comp Adjust operator individually adjusts any primary (red, green, blue) or secondary (cyan, magenta, yellow) components of a clip using a graph.

This operator requires one RGB(A) input clip.

Luma Adjust

The Luma Adjust operator adjusts the luminance values of a clip using a graph.

This Operator requires one input clip of any type.

RGB Adjust

The RGB Adjust operator adjusts the red, green, and blue values of a clip using a graph.

This operator requires one RGB(A) input clip.

Chroma Extract

The Chroma Extract operator extracts a matte base on chrominance (or saturation). You can use a graph to adjust the matte.

This operator requires one RGB input clip.

Color Extract

The Color Extract operator extracts a matte based on a selected color. You can use a graph to adjust the matte.

This operator requires one RGB input clip.

Comp Back Extract

The Comp Back Extract operator extracts a matte based on the result between the selected channel and the maximum of the complementary channel. You can use a graph to adjust the matte.

This operator requires one RGB input clip.

Comp Extract

The Comp Extract operator extracts a matte based on the red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, or yellow image component. You can use a graph to adjust the matte.

This operator requires one RGB input clip.

Difference Extract

The Difference Extract operator extracts a matte based on the difference in color values between two images. You can use a graph to adjust the matte.

This operator requires two RGB input clips.

Hue Extract

The Hue Extract operator extracts a matte based on a selected hue. You can use a graph to adjust the matte.

This operator requires one RGB input clip.

Luma Extract

The Luma Extract operator extracts a matte based on luminance (or saturation). You can use a graph to adjust the matte.

This operator requires one RGB input clip.
