S-Frame |
To create a new load case
3. If you want to calculate the self-weight of the elements within your frame, then you can set the Gravitational Factors for the appropriate directions. If you set a value, then S-Frame will calculate the self-weight as a uniform load on each element based on its area and the density of the material from which it is made. If you enter a value of 1, then S-Frame will use 100% of the calculated weight acting in the direction of that global axis (this means that for actual self-weights you are likely to enter a value of -1 in the Y-axis direction). If you want to apply 30% of the calculated load, then you would enter a value of 0.3.
