Performing an Analysis

To analyze the structure click the Analyse (sic) icon. You will see the Analysis Type dialog from which you can pick the type of analysis you want to use for this structure. The analysis types that you will see, and can choose from depend on the edition that you are running.
Help: For information see Choosing Analysis Options.
In a basic example it would be common to select Linear Static Analysis. When you have chosen the analysis type click OK to start the analysis.
Note: If you have any unsaved changes in your structure you will be prompted to save it. You should do this, or otherwise the analysis will not run. The Finite Element Solver window will open and the solution summary will detail the analysis results.
If no errors or warnings occur then you can use the Results windows to review the analysis. If warnings do occur, then you should consider reviewing your input to find and remove the cause of the warnings. If errors occur, then you will need to review your input and remove the cause of the errors before you run the analysis again.
Once an analysis is complete you can move back and forth between the Input and Results windows at will. However if you change your model in any way, the Results windows will immediately change to show <Not solved>.
