To display reaction forces

1. Click the Reaction Forces icon ( ) from the toolbox.
Help: As an alternative to the detailed notes below, you may prefer to review multi-member force diagrams by reference to a worked example. If so see Setting Graphical Results window options.
2. The Data Bar will reconfigure to allow you to specify the results in which you are particularly interested.

Note: The Data Bar input box titles differ slightly depending on whether you are working with load cases or load combinations.
If you are currently working with load combinations and you wish to work with primary load cases, click the View Load Cases icon ( ) from the Edit toolbar or click View / Select Load Type » Primary Load Cases.
If you are currently working with load cases and you wish to work with load combinations, click the View Load Combinations icon ( ) from the Edit toolbar or click the View / Select Load Type » Load Combinations menu option.
3. Choose the load case or combination with which you want to work by picking it from the Choose a load case list in the Views and Grids toolbar. Alternatively enter a Load Cases number in the Data Bar to view a single load case / combination or tick the All box in the Data Bar to display all load cases or combinations.
Note: You can click the View Next icon () or View Previous icon ( ) in the Views and Grids toolbar button to select the next / previous load case respectively in the list.
4. Choose the direction of the reaction you want to view from the list of available directions. The appropriate values will be shown in the display.
5. To view the reaction forces at a support node, double click that node, or alternatively right click the node and choose Properties from the context menu.

6. When you have reviewed the reactions click Ok to close the dialog and return to the Graphical Results window.
