Choosing Analysis Options
As you progress through the different editions of S-Frame, an increasing number of analysis options become available. These are detailed below and in the following sections.
S-Frame Standard Edition and P-Frame
Only the Linear Elastic Static Analysis option is available. Elements, support types, and loading conditions that demand more advanced analysis are generally automatically de-activated. Otherwise, the interface is the same as in the Professional and Enterprise editions.
Linear Static analysis is perhaps the most commonly used analysis option in structural engineering. It is appropriate where no nonlinear elements or constraints have been defined (e.g. tension only members, compression only supports) and where the problem is deemed not to be sway / deflection sensitive.
Note: If you are running linear static analysis using S-Frame Professional or Enterprise editions, some extra options relating to Response Spectrum Analysis may appear on the static analysis dialog.
Help: For further details of these options see Analyzing and Designing for Earthquakes.
