The Global Changes dialog box allows you to search and replace material field text in the selected spec.

Ø Warning: Global Changes is a powerful tool that can make broad based, critical changes in the Material Files.

To make a global change...

  1. Select the Spec you wish to edit from the Client / Project tree view.

  2. Open the Spec Parameters view.

  3. Click Global Changes. The Global Changes dialog box appears.

  4. Enter the following information:

In this field...

Enter/Do this...

Spec Name

Click the drop-down list to select the Spec you want to change.

Item

Select the material field you want to change data in.

Look for:

Enter the text you want to look for.
 Note: Text is case sensitive.

Replace with:

Enter the text you want to replace the text entered in Look for.

Replace

Click to replace the Look for text with the Replace with text.

Warning: This action automatically updates the material files. You cannot undo this action.

Close

Click to close the dialog box.
 Note: The OK button does not prompt the system to save. Each time you click the Replace button, the material files update automatically.

Help

Click to view context sensitive Help for this dialog box

  1. Do one of the following:

  2. Click Replace to replace the selected text.

  3.  Click Close to exit the dialog box without making any changes.
