
Use this tool to place markers referenced to a base point, such as a vessel seam. The markers help you to place items, such as nozzles, at a set distance from a reference point. AutoORTHO inserts the markers in the DEFPOINTS layer, which AutoCAD does not plot.
1. From the Utilities tab, select Set
Markers From Datum.

The Reference Points dialog box appears.

2. In this dialog box, do the following:

Select Baseline to reference all subsequent points to the original reference point, or select Continuous to use the last inserted marker as the reference point for the next marker |

Type coordinates for the first marker in the input boxes, or click Digitize and click in the drawing to select the coordinates |

Type an angle value for the direction, or click Digitize and click in the drawing to set the direction |

Distance to Next Point input box |
Type the distance to the next point from the reference point, or click Digitize and click in the drawing to set the distance |
3. Click Insert Marker.
The mark appears in the drawing.
The Reference Points dialog box reappears, with all input options unavailable except for Distance to Next Point.
4. In the Distance to Next Point input box, do one of the following:
Type the distance to the next point from the reference point
Click Digitize and click in the drawing to set the distance
The next mark appears in the drawing.
5. Repeat Step 4 until all required marks appear in the drawing.
6. Click Done to exit the tool.
