Use this tool to calculate the minimum spacing between pipes.

To calculate pipe to pipe spacing…

1.   From the Utilities tab, select Pipe/Pipe Spacing.

The Pipe to Pipe Spacing dialog box appears.

First Pipe-Main Pipe Size scroll list

Select the main pipe size for the first pipe

First Pipe-Pipe Rating scroll list

Select the pipe rating of the first pipe

First Pipe-Pipe Insulation options

Select No to calculate the spacing without insulation
Select Yes to calculate the spacing with insulation
If you select Yes, type a thickness value in the Insulation Thickness input box

Second Pipe-Main Pipe Size scroll list

Select the main pipe size for the second pipe

Second Pipe-Pipe Rating scroll list

Select the pipe rating of the second pipe

First Pipe-Pipe Insulation options

Select No to calculate the spacing without insulation
Select Yes to calculate the spacing with insulation
If you select Yes, type a thickness value in the Insulation Thickness input box

Clearance Between Pipe O.D. and Flange O.D. input box

Type the clearance required from the outside diameter of flanges and/or pipe insulation

3.   Click OK.

AutoORTHO calculates the minimum spacing required between the two pipes.

The Pipe to Pipe Spacing results dialog box appears, displaying the spacing calculations.

4.   Click OK to return to the drawing.
