Inserting Valve Stems Automatically

Activate the valve stem toggle. See Valve Stem Toggle. When you insert valves, a dialog box prompts you to insert the valve stem.

AutoORTHO inserts gate and angle valves with a rising stem and globe valves with a non-rising stem.

1.   Insert a valve.

The Valve Stem dialog box appears.

2.   From the Add Valve Stem options, select Yes.

3.   From the Stem Orientation options, select the required orientation option.

• Click Plan to insert the valve stem plan view

• Click Side to insert the valve stem in elevation view

• Click Rotated to insert the valve stem with a user-defined angle

4.   Click OK.

If you clicked Plan, the valve stem now appears in the drawing.

5.   For Side or Rotated orientation, click in the drawing to select the side where you want the valve stem to appear.

If you clicked Side, the valve stem now appears in the drawing.

6.   If you clicked Rotated, the Valve Stem Rotation dialog box appears.

7.   In the input box, type the rotation value.

8.   Click OK.

The rotated valve stem appears in the drawing.
