Inserting Channels and Angle Irons

1. From the Structural Steel tab, select Channel or Angle Iron.

The steel insertion dialog box appears. The Channel dialog box appears in this example.

2. From the Steel Insertion View options, select the required insertion view.

3. From the Insertion Point options, select the required insertion point.

If an insertion point option appears gray, it is not available for the selected insertion view.

4. From the Elevation options, select the required elevation view.

If an elevation option appears gray, it is not available for the selected insertion view.

5. Click Draw Channel (or Angle Iron).

The structural steel size selection dialog box appears.

6. From the scroll list, select the required steel size.

7. Click OK.

8. In the drawing, click to select the start point.

9. Click to select the end point (or rotation angle for sectional views).

10. Click to select the web side (for plan or sectional views).

The channel or angle iron appears in the drawing.
