Explorer will refer to the entire Explorer Pane, whereas Specification Explorer will refer to the lower section of the Explorer Pane with the specification structure. Conversely, the Component Explorer will be used to refer to the upper section of the Explorer Pane containing the component structure of the various libraries.
Component types are general
component classifications (Crosses, for example). Component types
are represented by a folder icon. A folder may contain component type
subclasses. For example: The 'Crosses' type contains component sub-types
called Cross–Butt Weld and Cross–Screwed). A component type may also contain
component groups.

Component groups are specific component groupings. (Schedule 10 Butt Welded Reducing Crosses, for example) Components groups are represented by a component group icon. Component group names appear in red text.
Individual components or components appear as a single row within the component data pane for a component group. For example, for a specific schedule, class, or rating of a component group there are multiple nominal pipe sizes. One single pipe size for one specific schedule is an individual component.
The Explorer pane also contains a design library list box. In this illustration the selected design library is ANSI Piping. List options available depend on your system configuration.
