
Use this procedure to remove a material from the materials list.
Important: You cannot remove a material from the list if the material is:
§ assigned to a material set
§ assigned as the default for any component group
§ assigned to a component in any specification
1. From the Tools menu, select Manage
materials.
Alternately, right-click any component type or group in the Component
Explorer tree, and then select Manage materials from the pop-up
menu.
The Materials editor dialog box appears.
Ø Tip: If you access the Materials editor using the Tools menu you can edit the materials lists for all design libraries. If you access by right-clicking on a component type or group, you can only edit the materials list for the design library open in Component Explorer.
2. Click the item you want to remove from the list.
Ø Note: You can also select of range of items using shift-click method, or by holding the mouse button and dragging to highlight all desired items. To select an entire column, click in the column heading.
3. Right click and select the Delete command from the context menu.
The selected item(s) disappear from the viewing list but are not deleted from the database.
4. Do one of the following:
Click OK to apply changes to the database and close the dialog box
Click Apply to apply changes to the database without closing the dialog box
Click Cancel to exit the dialog box without making any changes to the database
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each item you want to delete.
