The Importing Project from SQL Server command allows transferring of main project data into a projects database. This is for Enterprise Editions and network installations of the Small Business Edition. The Importing Project to External File command allows transferring of a main project into any MSDE or SQL Server that is accessible through the network.
The imported project file will contain information on all sub-projects, line numbers, specs selected, drawings and user roles and permissions. Note that the actual specifications are not imported. The original project will remain intact in its original location.
From the Tools menu, select Importing Project from SQL Server.
The Select SQL Server dialog appears. Select the server you wish to import the project from the drop down box.
Click the Next button to continue.
The Select Project for Import dialog appears. Select the project or subproject that you wish to import from the project list.
Click the Finish button to import the selected project.
If the project or any subproject has an identical name to any existing projects, a dialog will appear asking for a new name for the project being imported.
