At the completion of a project, it may be desirable to archive the project so that it no longer exists in the project database and is no longer displayed in the project manager. The Archive Projects command allows the project information to be transferred from the database to Archive Project File format. The original project will be completely removed from the database. This functionality will work for both MSDE and SQL server databases.
The exported project file will contain information on all sub-projects, line numbers, specs selected, drawings and user roles and permissions. The physical drawing files (*.dwg) such as the models, orthographics and isometric drawings will all remain in their original location.
Highlight the project that you wish to archive.
From the Tools menu, select Archive Project.
The Save As dialog appears. Select the name of the exported file and the location where it will reside. The file extension is *.arh.
Click the Save button to export the selected project.
A final warning will appear indicating that the project settings will be completely removed from the database.

Click the Archive button to complete the archiving process.
