Placing Components

There are four types of placement:

• Placing a component in free space

• Connecting a component to an existing component

• Attaching a component at a non-connection point (i.e. placing a branch connection mid-pipe)

• Placing a component using a relative base point

Different procedures exist for each of these placements, and each procedure varies only slightly for different component types.  Some components do have very specific placement procedures, and these may be found in the detailed design system documentation.
