Updating an Orthographic Drawing

Use this procedure to update an Orthographic view without having to redo associated annotations.

Important: To perform the update procedure described here, the Orthographic view you are updating must be in the same location it was when it initially generated.

Before you perform this procedure you must know:

§         The base plane region of the Orthographic drawing you want to update

§         Height range of the Orthographic drawing you want to update

§         Name and location of the output file

§         Original location of the output file (if different from above)

To update an Orthographic view in its original location...

1.    Ensure the Orthographic drawing file is in its original location.

2.    Open the drawing with the Orthographic view you want to update.

3.    Freeze the layers that contain annotations.

4.    Erase the original Orthographic view.

5.    Save the drawing.

6.    Close the drawing.

7.    Open the model that the Orthographic drawing came from.

8.    Regenerate the view. For assistance in create/generating Orthographic drawings, see Creating an Orthographic Drawing.

9.    Open the new Orthographic drawing.

10.  Thaw the annotations.

11.  Edit the annotations as required.
