Selecting a Specification

Before you place any ANSI piping component, ensure you are working with the appropriate specification. Note that all components assigned to a spec are located on the same AutoCAD layer. Each layer has an associated color.

It is also possible to change the specification for an individual component after it has been placed.  Be aware that although the Modeller will only allow you to select a specification that contains the selected component’s size, it does not check details such as material or manufacturer for correctness.

To select a spec before placing a component...

From the Spec drop-down list, select the desired spec type.

To change a specification after the component has been placed…

1.      Click on the component whose specification you wish to change.

2.      Bring up the context menu by right clicking.

3.      Select the Component Attributes command.  This will open the Component Attributes dialog box.

4.      From the Spec drop down box, select the new specification.

Ø      Note: Only specifications containing size information identical to the selected component will be displayed.
