
You can modify the base plane setting, or toggle the base plane off at any time.
1. In the Structural Steel component toolbar, select any tab except for Cutouts.
2. Click the Base Plane button.

Select steel to be modified appears in the command line.
3. Type one of the following at the command line:
Top to snap to the top of any placed steel.
Bottom to snap to the bottom of any placed steel.
Off to disable the base plane setting.
4. Press Enter.
If you selected Top or Bottom, Specify new default elevation appears in the command line.
Ø Note: The currently selected elevation appears in brackets.
5. Type the default elevation at the prompt in the command line box.
6. Press Enter.
All steel that you place will be lined up at this elevation, using the base plane specified in the previous step.
