Copying Cutouts

You can copy a cutout using the specialized Steel command (Copy Steel or Detail). A copied cutout can only be applied to the piece of steel from which it was copied. In other words, you cannot copy a cutout from one beam and apply it to another.

To copy a cutout...

1.   In the Structural Steel component toolbar, click the Cutouts tab.

2.   From the options, select the Copy Cutout button.

Select steel to cutout to copy appears in the command line.

3.   Click the center line of the cutout you want to copy.

Specify base point appears in the command line.

4.   Click the point where you want the copy to start.

Specify second point of displacement appears in the command line.

5.   Click a point to define the direction and depth for the new cutout.

6.   Press Enter.

The new cutout appears.
