The introduction of I-Configure impacts I-Sketch users as follows.
I-Sketch v2.5 will work against existing PipMan Projects and Styles without any modification being necessary, and without PipMan being installed on the machine.
I-Sketch v2.5 is the first version of this software that ships with I-Configure.
I-Configure replaces PipMan and the ISOGEN Options and AText editors.
Symbols editor is unchanged and is still supplied and installed (to the Iso Utils folder).
The AText.pdf is also supplied in this folder.
PipMan projects were fixed format - always having
for Projects - “Pipes” , “Exports” and “Inputs” folders.
for Styles - “Drawings”, “Messages”, “Reports” folders.
I-Configure projects are controlled by an XML configuration file.
All ISOGEN settings (inputs and outputs) are written to this file, which is held in the Style folder.
The outputs from I-Configure are the same as from PipMan - the familiar FLS and ISOGEN control files: DDF, MLD, WDF, POS etc.
Project properties are not held in registry. Instead, they are contained in a variety of XML configuration files.
Existing PipMan Projects and Styles must be imported before they can be changed in I-Configure.
Project Connector was the application supplied to enable users of the I-Sketch Client installation to connect to network Projects. This is now redundant and therefore no longer supplied. Instead, I-Sketch now logs into the required Project, either a local Project, or a network project.
