Subsurface Amount

Subsurface scattering contributes to the diffuse shading of a material. The Subsurface Amount is a percentage value that determines the contribution of diffuse shading made by subsurface scattering. It is a good idea to keep this in mind in order to balance the percentages between Diffuse Color and Subsurface Amount depending on which effect you prefer for final shading. Also, combining high Diffuse Amounts and high Subsurface Amounts can yield unnatural shading results. Hey, if that's what you're into, there is nothing wrong with that.
