Export As

modo will let you save your work in the several formats by using the Export As command. You can save as LightWave Object, X3D, OBJ and mayaAscii. This is different than using Save As and choosing the format as Export will not change the current setting of the file as it is inside modo. Which is to say, when you Save a model in a particular format modo will remember this and each subsequent save will be in the same format. If you Save the model in Obj and then use Export to save an FBX file modo still considers the file in memory to be an Obj. Export simply allows you to quickly export in different formats without changing the internal file.

To save your file as OBJ (for example), do the following:

1) On the File menu choose Export As > OBJ.
2) On the Save Scene As dialog, click the dropdown arrow for Save as type and choose OBJ.
2) Navigate to the correct directory or folder.
3) Give your file an appropriate name and click OK.
