Edit >> Transform >> Shell Trackball
Step
- Execute Edit >> Transform >> Shell Trackball command as follows:
- 1. Select Edit >> Transform >> Shell Trackball from the menu or click the icon from the View toolbar. ( Shortcut key : Ctrl + T )
Each time a user selects this command, the shell trackball mode is toggled.- 2. Select shells to transform. Then a manipulator appears.
- 3. Translate, rotate or scale shells using shell trackball interface or manipulator.
- 4. Click the right mouse button while using shell trackball. The following pop-up menu appears.
Select Pause to temporarily stop the current command and change to input ready state. Then, a user can use virtual trackball. In this state, a check mark appears in the front of Pause command. Select Pause once more to resume the stopped command.
If Snap Options is clicked, this dialog box appears:
You can check Use Distance Snap, Use Angle Snap, Use Scale Snap and input corresponding values. And then the translation, rotation and scaling can only be carried out by the step of the specified amount.
The From Collided Region sets the trackball manipulator at a collided region when the Restrict Collision function (under Tool > Physics > Restrict Collision in the RP workbench) is activated.
The From Ref. Geometry sets the trackball coordinate at a ref. point, vector or plane.
The Add Collided Region as Ref. Geometry adds a reference point, vector or plane at the collided region.
Check Show Transformation Info. to display translation distance and rotation angle in the working window in real time.
Select Done to finalize the change of the coordinates of the shell.
Press ESC key or
icon to stop this command without changing the coordinates of the shell.
Note
Scaling is limited to 0.2-5.0 times.
