Tool >> Extract Grid Shell
Tool >> Extract Grid Shell command does grid sampling on selected shell using user made Grid or Ref.Plane and makes a new shell with sampled point cloud.
All algorithm is same as Build >> Extract Grid Shell, but With Tool >> Extract Grid Shell commands, RapidForm can project ray of grid plane into selected shell and get sampled point
RapidForm makes ray projection using grid space and gets new point cloud. So, result depends on ray direction and grid space

Step
- Execute Tool >> Extract Grid Shell command as follows:
- 1. Select Tool >> Extract Grid Shell from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the Tool toolbar.
- 2. Pick shell or surface to do sampling. with RMB pop-up menu, user can select surface or shell. To end selection, Select Done
- 3. Following dialogue should be appeared.
กก
- Input offset value by U,V direction to U,V Direction of Offset Filed. Input value is point spacing of sampling
- In Set Plane filed, User can draw grid plane directly by Draw Plane option or select Ref.Plane for grid by Ref.Plane
- User can reverse projection direction by Reverse Direction option.
- Click Align To Screen option change view port with normal of grid plane.
- User can select resulted shell with vertex only or polygon shell. If Polygon shell is selected, user must type Min/Max length of resulted edge size in Triangulate option.
