Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity (Position / Tangency)
Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity command displays the color bar to evaluate the continuity between a surface and its adjacent one.
Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity >> Position command evaluates the G0 continuity of two adjacent surfaces.
Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity >> Tangency command evaluates the G1 continuity of two adjacent surfaces.
Step
- Execute Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity command as follows:
- 1. Select Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity from the menu.
- 2. Pick the boundary edge between two adjacent surfaces.
- 3. Pick the edge again.
Result
Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity >> Position gives the result as below.
The color map shows the gap between two surfaces at both side of selected edges.

Surface >> Analyze >> Check Continuity >> Tangency gives the result as below.
The color map shows the tangency between two surfaces at both side of selected edges.
n general, the G1 continuity is satisfied if the number of its bar is less than 1.
In color map, Green and yellow arrows show the normal directions of two surfaces on which boundary they meet.
If you move the mouse over the color map, deviation value is shown in real-time.
