Select >> Freehand
Select >> Freehand command enables the user to draw an arbitrary path and select the vertices or faces inside the path. It is similar to lasso tool which is widely used in 2D painting software.
Step
- Execute Select >> Freehand command as follows:
- 1. Select Select >> Freehand from the menu or click the icon from the select toolbar. ( Shortcut key : Ctrl + O )
- 2. Draw a path as the user want by dragging the mouse with the left mouse button pressed. The path is colored red.
- 3. Release the mouse button after completing the path and vertices or faces inside the path are selected.
Note
The staring and ending point of the path are connected automatically. Thus, the user does not need to draw a closed path.
Regardless of the direction of the path, vertices or faces inside the path are selected.
The user can select vertices or faces that are only on the active shell. If the active shell has no faces( vertices only ), Select >> Freehand command selects vertices. Otherwise Select >> Freehand command selects faces.
