Select menu provides various functions for selecting vertices, faces, or a shell.
In the surface workbench, surface and curve can also be selected.( See Select >> Entities >> Curve / Surface / Loop )
The selected faces are defined as region.
The selected vertices or faces can be distinguished from others by their color as shown in the following figure.
If a user selects a shell, it becomes the active shell.
A user can select only vertices or faces that are on the active shell.
Selecting a previously selected region with Ctrl key holding down deselects that region.
