Tool >> Make Volume >> Thicken
command changes a shell into a volume, which is a completely closed shell with
no boundaries, by giving a constant thickness to each
face of a shell.
Step
- Execute
Tool >> Make Volume >> Thicken command as follows:
- 1. Select
Tool >> Make Volume >> Thicken
from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the
RP toolbar.
- 2. Select
a shell to be thickened. ( See Shell
selection
)
- 3.
The following dialog box appears.

- Input the
amount of thickening at the Thickness field and select Offset
direction to which the shell is thickened.
- Backward means the
opposite direction of a face normal. Forward means the same
direction as a face normal. Both means half thickness in the Backward direction and
half thickness in the Forward direction.
- There
can have crossing faces depending on the curvature of regions. Check Try
to remove crossing faces option to automatically verify and clean
crossing faces. ( See Clean )
- Press
Preview button to see the rough result in advance.
- 4.
Press
OK to complete this command.
