Tool  >> Find Medial Axis Points

• Tool >> Find Medial Axis Point command creates a point set that vertices of polygonal shell are arranged around its medial axis. This operation moves points on polygonal surface to the medial axis of the selected shell.

Step   

Execute Tool >> Find Medial Axis Point command as follows:

1. Select Tool >> Find Medial Axis Point from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the Build toolbar.

2. Select a polygonal shell.

 

Or,

1. Select vertices.

2. Select Tool >> Find Medial Axis Point from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the Build toolbar. Since there already are selected vertices, Tool >> Find Medial Axis Point command is applied only to them.

Result

• The new point set is registered to the Shells node of project tree window. Original polygon shell remains as it is.

• The below is an example of finding medial axis.

Note  

• If the selected shell has no faces, this command is canceled.

• If user select point only shell, RapidFrom shows message as below fig.
