Tool >> Fill Holes >> Volume
Tool >> Fill Holes >> Volume command fills holes on a polygonal shell by extending boundaries of shell using diffusion method, after reconstruction by calculation of distance between node point of voxel and vertex .
A hole means a closed path formed by boundary edges; it is automatically detected by the program.
Tool >> Fill Holes >> Volume command can be applied to both a selected shell and a selected region.
Step
- Execute Tool >> Fill Holes >> Volume command as follows:
- 1. Select Tool >> Fill Holes >> Volume from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the Polygon toolbar.
- If user wants to fill hole in some region. Select region before execution. and then, Fill holes >>Volume command fill holes only in the selected region.
- 2. Pick shell to fill hole.
- 3. Following dialogue should be appeared.
- Number of Iteration is polygon depth to extend boundary. If '0' inputted, RapidForm do not extend boundaries and just relocate vertex by voxel calculation like Volume Merge.
- Resolution is ratio to average polygon edge. If number larger than ' 1' is inputted. Edge of filled region is larger than selected shell. In other case, vise versa.
If User check Except Biggest Hole option for filling, RapidForm leaves biggest hole unfilled.
If user selected Optimize Mesh option, RapidForm makes a polygon' size regular
4. Using manipulator like below figure, User can assign polygon extension limit.
Manipulator is located on selected shell's center position. enclosed box is territory of extension which is limit of polygon extension.
Mouse dragging on each circle rotates enclosed box and on 3 each arrow moves box.
On RMB menu, User can select Snap Options if user wants to move or rotate enclosed box with snap, user can select Show Transformation Info If user wants to see transform informations
After transform, select Done to finish transform.
- 5. Input Number of Iteration, Resolution and select OK to fill hole.
- 6. After execution, RapidForm makes a new shell with holes filled.

Note

If user select OK, texture will be removed after execution, If Cancel, execution will be canceled.
