Tool >> Weld >> Shells

• Tool >> Weld >> Shells command provides the functionality for precise stitching the gaps between the boundaries of one model ( Shells ) into a combined shell in case that the gaps is smaller than a user-assigned tolerance.

• Tool >> Weld >> Shells command is applied to all the shells in the current model.

Step   

Execute Tool >> Weld >> Shells command as follows:

1. Select Tool >> Weld >> Shells from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the polygon Tool1 toolbar.

2. The following dialog box appears.

3. Welding tolerance is the maximum distance between the vertices to be welded. That is, if different shells have boundary vertices whose distance is smaller than welding tolerance, they are stitched to a new shell. 

Note  

• Before a user execute Tool >> Weld >> Shells command, the distance between the vertices on shell boundaries should be measured with Measure  >> Distance command in order to assign the adequate tolerance.

• This command is texture preserve command. So if user don't have Color workbench license, Rapidform shows a below message.

If user select OK, texture will be removed after execution, If Cancel, execution will be canceled.

• If user does this process on polygon shell with feature region , Below warning message will appear.
