Tool >> Subdivide Shell / Region

 

Step

Execute Tool >> Subdivide command as follows:
1. When there is no selected region, the menu appears as Tool >> Subdivide Shell. In this case, it is applied to a whole shell. When there is a selected region, the menu appears as Tool >> Subdivide Region, and it is applied only to a selected region.
2. Select Tool >> Subdivide Shell / Region or, click the corresponding icon from the polygon Tool1 toolbar.
3. In cases of Tool >> Subdivide Shell, select a shell; in case of Tool >> Subdivide Region,  no selection is needed cause there already is a pre-selected region. Then the following dialog box comes out. ( See Select Shell )

The default option 4x produces four triangles for every original triangle. Select 3x to produce three triangles for every original triangle.
Edges with length values bigger than the value in If the length is greater than field is subdivided. To subdivide all the faces, set the value to 0.0.
The Preserve Sharp Edges option determines whether or not to preserve the sharp corners of the selected shell or region.
The Preserve Marked Edges / Vertices option determines whether or not to preserve the marked edges or vertices.
Click Do not adjust vertex position option in order not to move original and new vertices.
Click Subdivide by curvature option to subdivide only high or low curvature region. High curvature region is displayed with red and blue color by Measure > Curvature Plot operation. You can expand the low curvature region by typing in a number bigger than 1.0(default).
5. Press OK button to complete this command.

If user select OK, texture will be removed after execution, If Cancel, execution will be canceled.
