Tool >> Shrink Shell / Region

• Tool >> Shrink Shell / Region commands remove all the boundary edges of a selected shell or region.

• Generally, the region near the boundary of scanned data may contain more measurement errors. Therefore, it is a good idea to remove boundary portions before starting the registration or merging process.

• Tool >> Shrink Shell / Region command can be applied to both a selected shell and region. The menu changes automatically between Tool >> Shrink Shell and Tool >> Shrink Region according to the situation.

Step   

Execute Tool >> Shrink Shell / Region command as follows:

        1. Select Tool >> Shrink Shell / Region from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the polygon Tool1 toolbar. When there is no selected region, the menu appears as Tool >> Shrink Shell, otherwise it appears as Tool >> Shrink Region. 

        2. In case of executing Tool >> Shrink Shell, select a shell. ( See Shell selection ). Then click right mouse button and select All from the popup menu as shown below.


           

        3. Then the following dialog box appears.

Input the number of iteration at the Depth field. Shrinking process repeats until the specified iteration is reached.

4. Press OK button to complete the process.
