• Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Torus command projects selected faces onto a specific Torus.

Step   

Execute Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Torus command as follows:

1. Select Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Torus from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the polygon Tool1 toolbar.

2. Click the right mouse button and the following pop-up menu appears.

   

3. Select Select Region and a region to fit it to a tori surface. If there already is a selected region, this step can be skipped. ( See Select region )

4. Click the right mouse button and the following pop-up menu appears.

   

    Click Done button to finish selecting region.

5. To find the most appropriate fitting Torus automatically, select Do Torus Fitting from the right mouse shortcut menu. This command is completed.

6. To define the axis of the Torus by yourself, select Pick Ref. Vector and a reference vector to be the axis of the fitting torus. 

7. To fit the region to a reference torus, select Pick Ref. Torus and the predefined reference torus.

8. Select Do Torus Fitting to complete this command.

• Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Torus command cannot generate desirable result if the selected region doesn't have a shape similar to a Torus.
