• Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Sphere command projects selected faces onto a specific sphere

Step

Execute Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Sphere command as follows:

1. Select Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Sphere from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the polygon Tool1 toolbar.

2. Click the right mouse button and the following pop-up menu appears.

   

3. Select Select Region and a region to fit it to a spherical surface.
    If there already is a selected region, this step can be skipped. ( See Select region )

4. Click the right mouse button and the following pop-up menu appears.

   

    Click Done to finish selecting region.

5. To find the most appropriate fitting sphere automatically, select Do Sphere Fitting. This command is completed.

6. To define the fitting sphere by yourself, select Pick Ref. Sphere and a reference sphere as the fitting sphere.

7. Select Do Sphere Fitting to complete this command.

• Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Sphere command generates undesirable result if the selection region doesn't have a shape similar to a sphere.
