• Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Cylinder command projects selected faces onto a specific cylinder.

Step   

Execute Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Cylinder command as follows:

1. Select Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Cylinder from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the polygon Tool1 toolbar.

2. Click the right mouse button and the following pop-up menu appears.

   

3. Select Select Region and a region to fit it to a cylindrical surface. If there already is a selected region, this step can be skipped. ( See Select region )

4. Click the right mouse button and the following pop-up menu appears.

   

    Click Done button to finish selecting region.

5. To find the most appropriate fitting cylinder automatically, select Do Cylinder Fitting from the right mouse shortcut menu. This command is completed.

6. To define the axis of the cylinder by yourself, select Pick Ref. Vector and a reference vector to be the axis of the fitting cylinder. 

7. To fit the region to a reference cylinder, select Pick Ref. Cylinder and the predefined reference cylinder.

8. Select Do Cylinder Fitting to complete this command.

• Tool >> Fit Regions To >> Cylinder command cannot generate desirable result if the selected region doesn't have a shape similar to a cylindrical.
