Measure >> Face Angle Plot
Measure >> Face Angle Plot command uses a color map to represent the angles between normal of faces of one shell and a user-defined vector. To plot the color map, a user can choose from three different methods (Absolute, Signed or Two Color).
By clicking Attach To Shell button, you can change the shell color to the map color. As drawing interpolation curves along the boundary of the attached color map, you can define the parting line for mold making. To remove the attached map color, use Color >> Remove Vertex Color command.
Using Draft Angle option, you can easily check the draft for mold-making.
Step
Execute Measure >> Face Angle Plot command as follows:
1. Select Measure >> Face Angle Plot from the menu or click the icon from the Measure toolbar.
2. Select a target shell.
- 3. The following dialog box appears.
- There are three Plot Type options: Absolute Color, Signed Color and Two Color. Use Absolute Color option to display absolute angle values in the color map. Use Signed Color option to display positive angle values in gradient red color and negative ones in gradient blue color. Use Two Color option to display color map in only two colors: red and blue.
- Draft Angle option limits the displayed region of color map. The accepted value is from 0 to 90.
- Normal Direction defines a vector that is used to calculate the angles between normals of faces of a shell and it. Custom Axis option defines the custom axis.
- Push Attach To Shell button to assign the color from color map to the vertices of shell.
- 4. Push Apply button to apply changed options.
