Measure >> Distance >> Perimeter >> Point / Ref. Plane
Step
- Execute Measure >> Distance >> Perimeter >> Point / Ref. Plane command as follows:
- 1. Select Measure >> Distance >> Perimeter >> Point / Ref. Plane from the menu or click the icon from the Measure toolbar.
- 2. Select a reference plane to cut the shell.
- 3. Select a point or a reference point where the shell is cut.
- If a user clicks the right mouse button, the following pop-up menu appears.
- Select Ref. Point to pick a reference point instead of a point on shells.
- 4. The result appears on the lower left side of the workspace window as follows.
- Perimeter is the length around the section.
- Area is the area of the section.
- Centroid is the coordinate of the centroid of the section. It is represented as an red sphere.
- When the cross section does not form a closed path, Area and Centroid can not be calculated and Open Section is shown on the screen instead.
Note
This menu is disabled if there is no reference plane.
